Makeup Looks Of The 40's With Rimmel

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

I often "joke" that I was born in the wrong decade, my heart believes it belonged in the big band era. The style was so classic, the way of life beautiful and simple, I would have been starring in movies along-side Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, and Bing Crosby, I just know it, and the

makeup looks

were spot on. Since I find myself here in the 2000's I like to bring that era into my life wherever I can. You all know I love antiques and my style often has a retro flare. So it only makes sense that my favorite

makeup looks

would be that of the 40's- cat eyes and red lips; yes, please! I'm going to show you how to get those looks today using

Rimmel London from Walmart

.

-

Start with a clean and moisturized face (so important!), I like to let my moisturizer sit and soak into my skin for about ten minutes before I apply any makeup.

-

Next, use your fingers (yes, I always use my fingers to apply foundation on my own face. I use a brush if I'm doing makeup on someone else) to apply the

Rimmel London Stay Matte foundation

. Apply a bead of foundation onto your middle or index finger and apply all over the face. Use your ring finger for sensitive areas around the eyes. This is my new favorite

drugstore foundation

!

-

Then apply a setting powder and blend using a dense blending brush.

-

Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks and sweep it back towards your temple. I like to use a rosy colored blush for this look.

-

Then apply your contour color along the jawline, cheek bones, and sides of your nose (yes, your nose)

-

Blend everything with your dense blending brush so it is smooth and flawless- that is the key to getting this look.

-

Using a flat shadow brush, apply a matte brown shadow all over the lid and into the crease then blend with a shadow blending brush.

-

Using a black gel, liquid, or pen liner, apply a straight line all the way across your upper lid then diagonally to the corner of your eyebrow to get the cat eye look.

-

Then finish off the eyes with

Rimmel's Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara

. If you're looking for the

best cheap mascara

, this is it!

-

Exfoliate your lips and immediately apply a moisturizer/ chapstick and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

-

Apply a rosy lip liner and fill your lips in completely (yes, I said completely)!

-

Apply a true red lipstick

Add some fabulous curls or a simple updo and you are done!
