Dressed in White
In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we are baptized at age 8. It's a very special time for us and it's a day most of us will remember forever. We are usually baptized by our fathers or by the man we are closest too, who is also able to administer that ordinance. My niece turned 8 back in December... but her father was in Afghanistan. So, rather than let one of her grandfathers do it, she decided to wait until her dad could return and be the one to baptize her. Well, he is home, as you may have seen
, and she is ready to move forward with this important decision in her life.
To celebrate, the girls are usually bought a beautiful white dress and announcements are sent to friends and family members with a photo. Well, my sister asked me to be the photographer here and I was honored. I am not a professional, by any means, but I enjoyed the practice and I couldn't have had a more beautiful subject.
Isn't her dress beautiful?! She is getting so big, I can hardly stand it. She was so excited about receiving her first pair of "high heels", and I must say, they make her seem quite grown up.
