Like most of you, my life has not been perfect. There have been moments, a few that I can recall specifically, where I felt my life was over. I can remember times where I have felt heartbreak, disappointment, and grief to the point of sobbing. There have been times when I’ve made big decisions that have absolutely terrified me, but I knew were right. There have been times where I made not so good decisions, but to me, they felt important.

Through all of that, and every moment in between, there has been one person who has never doubted my abilities to accomplish my goals, who always comforts me when I’ve needed it most, or supported me even if it was just so I could make mistakes that would eventually make me a better person. Whether I live at home or three thousand miles away, she has always been there for me. This person, who has so selflessly raised me, is my mom.

Throughout my life, she has done more for me than I deserve... and sometimes I really didn’t deserve her help at all. So with Mother’s Day coming up, I wanted to put a package together for her; something special to say “Thank You”. She’s walked with me through thick and thin, uphill and down. All that walking can really wear on your feet, so I figured she could use a little pampering...

I decided to go with a “foot” theme for her package.

With the temperatures up, it’s a perfect way to “kick” off sandal season. In her package I included:

 Pedi Perfect

 Electronic Foot File

The Amopé

 Foot Cream

A homemade foot scrub (recipe below)

A pair of new sandals

Temporary tattoos to help her dress up her fresh feet

And a few other items to make her get that spa feeling at home

Thank you to my sister for not only posing for this shot but also going in on this package with me. We both live 3,000 miles from our mom and wanted to do something special, together.

As an aesthetician, I couldn’t send my mom a package without a personal touch from her favorite skin care specialist. So I whipped up this simple and natural foot scrub. It’s something you can make at home and gift to your own mom this Mother’s Day

!

Ingredients

1 cup coarse raw sugar

2 tbsp unrefined coconut oil

1 tsp raw honey

favorite essential oils for scent (and benefits, depending on the oil you use)

Directions

In a saucepan, over low heat, melt the coconut oil and honey. When they have melted, remove from the stove and add the sugar. Stir until all three ingredients have combined then add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the pot and stir it in. Place the scrub in the jar you’re using to store it, while it is still warm. The scrub will harden a bit as it cools but will melt easily in your hands.

To Use

Wash your feet with body wash or soap. Then, warm 1 tsp (per foot) of scrub in your hands and scrub from the tips of your toes to your ankles (or use on the entire body), concentrating on the rough patches. Rinse with warm water and then buff with the Amopé

 Pedi Perfect

Electronic Foot File. Rinse again and then immediately apply the Amopé

Foot Cream, before the skin has completely dried.

I can’t wait to hear how my mom likes her presents, she definitely deserves some pampering!
