Tis the season for comfort food and one of my favorite comfort foods growing up were the delicious and warm Chicken Pot Pies. They always hit the spot on cold winter nights and worked to warm you from the inside out. So when I came across

Marie Callender's® Chicken Pot Pies

while shopping at Walmart, I had to stock up! These are pot pies just like mom used to make; they taste homemade and offer comfort in a golden, flaky crust. They're perfect for

family meals

, quiet nights, or friendly gatherings. Plus, they're easy to make (directions below) and leave the house smelling like memories.

Since I was on such a nostalgic kick, I decided to whip up a dessert to compliment my pot pie dinners. With flavors of caramel, cinnamon, brown sugar, and pear, this Baked Pear Dessert (recipe below) tastes like home with every bite. Plus, they're so easy to make, anyone can do it.

To make your Marie Callender's® Chicken Pot Pie, wrap the base and edges in tin foil, then bake following the directions on the box. (on a baking sheet, 400° for 63-65 min)

To make the baked pears, you will need:

2 baked pears

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp ground cinnamon

rosemary

Directions:

In a bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut the pears in half and scoop out the core. Place them on a baking sheet and fill the center with your brown sugar mix and a small sprig of rosemary. Bake in the oven at 350° for 25 min.

To make your Homemade Caramel Sauce, you will need:

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup butter

1 tsp salt

Directions:

Place the brown sugar in a sauce pan over low heat. When it has become "fluffy", add in the butter. It will melt quickly and will need to be stirred constantly to combine well. Once it has combined completely, add in the salt. Serve warm.

When the pears have finished baking, quickly cover them with vanilla ice cream, chopped pecans, and the caramel sauce. Serve while the pears are warm so the ice cream becomes soft and you have the contrast of hot and cold.

The Marie Callender's® Chicken Pot Pies are the perfect addition to your get together's and family dinners, this season. They bring everyone together; who can say "no" to the warm, wholesome ingredients? And what better way to finish off the meal than with this Baked Pear and Homemade Caramel Sauce recipe? It will be everyone's favorite night of the year. Bonus- you can save when you purchase your next Marie Callender's® Chicken Pot Pie by using
