Driving Through Vermont in Autumn // New England Pt. 3
My third day in New England was easily one of the best! We had scheduled a weekend stay at an Airbnb in Vermont (visit their website HERE and sign up to stay at their Airbnb HERE), and while it’s only a few hours away, we took the entire day to get there. Anytime we spotted something beautiful (which was a lot), we stopped to snap some photos and take in the view. From vividly colored leaves in every shade, to covered bridges, to forgotten cobbled fences, to perfectly calm lakes reflecting the distant shoreline; Vermont held the quintessential New England experience!
Some of my favorite roadside stops included the Guilford Welcome Center (Which is located just inside the state when you enter from Massachusetts on I-91 North), a lonely covered bridge we stumbled upon (pictured below), and a gorgeous, roadside lake (pictured below). As we drove, we listened to my Scenic Route Playlist, an Indie Folk Compilation Playlist, and some spooky stories from Full Body Chills. With the overcast sky, and the leaves flying past our windows as we drove, it became everything you could ever want from an Autumn day in New England.
Vermont had been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. My favorite Christmas movie (White Christmas) is set in the Vermont countryside (Lets be honest—the entire state is “countryside”, and I loved it.) so it has always instilled in me a love for a state I had never been to, until recently, and now need to return to.
