How I'm Taking Care Of Myself In My Thirties
I’m only in my mid-thirties and already it feels like things are starting to fall apart… My joints ache, my muscles are easily made sore, I’m tired all the time; it’s like I blinked and suddenly I am “getting old”.
Now, i know I’m not actually “old” but as things start to physically change, it’s awakening in me a love for and desire to care for my body like I’ve never had before. In my twenties, it was always a fight against my body… Why wasn’t it a certain way? This part’s too big. That part’s too small. Etc. But now, I’m realizing how blessed I am to have this body and that for too long I’ve taken for granted the good health I have/had.
I’ve been waiting for this switch to flip for years. The one that wakes me up and fills me with gratitude for what my body is capable of. The one that makes me want to properly care for and nourish it. While I am not a professional when it comes to any one area of health, I do know it’s the little changes that make the biggest impact.
So as we enter this new year, I will be sharing more of my health journey and the little things that help me nourish and heal my body. Whether it’s morning walks with Maple, a nutrient dense dinner recipe, or a trip to my Doctor. Too long have my body and mind been at odds with each other. This year, my focus will be creating a symbiotic relationship between body and mind, where both win.
WHERE I’M CURRENTLY AT:
Last month I got a head start on this journey by implementing more supplements into my routine as well as started my annual physical with my physician. Yesterday, January 1, I joined our local YMCA so I can have access to group fitness classes and gym equipment.
Throughout this year, I hope to share more about my health journey and the little changes I’m making to make a bigger impact on my overall health and wellness. Stick around for recipes, product reviews, tips that worked for me, beauty routines, adventures, and experiences!
