How To Wear A Dress In Winter
In a surprising turn of events, Summer has become my favorite time of year to dress for, because I can simply slip a dress on and call it a day! Breezy, romantic, cottagecore dresses are my favorite things to wear but they aren’t exactly ideal for cold, Winter weather. However, there are some ways you can get away with wearing dresses in Winter, if you’re like me and just can’t wait for the sun to return!
First, boots are a must! Chelsea Boots from Dr. Martens are the perfect way to add an edge to your favorite romantic dresses while also keeping you warm for the Winter weather. I personally love more of a chunky boot, like these Rometty Wyoming Leather Platform Chelsea Boots. Bonus: They’re super comfortable as well as easy to pair with jeans or leggings!
Next, you’ll need to make sure you’re layering. Whether it’s just a simple layer, like socks or tights, or a more intense base layer like some thermal leggings or a turtleneck. This step will ensure you start warm, even if a breeze kicks up!
Finally, you’ll want to add a layer over the dress to keep in your body heat. From duster cardigans to leather jackets, there are so many possibilities for styling. I love using my leather jacket as it adds texture and compliments the chelsey boots nicely.
Of course on even cooler days, a scarf, hat, and gloves are a life saver!
(Please also appreciate the muddy paw prints that Maple left on my clean white dress… I didn’t edit them out because #reallife)
