Living Room Makeover With Antiques Pt. 1
The time has finally come to share part one of our living room makeover! We are currently renting, so this is a decor-only makeover. Each element in this space really has been thought out over the last two years (I said 1.5 years in the video, but looking back, it has been longer.) Finding your style, acquiring high quality items, and creating a collection that feels like "you" takes TIME! I am a firm believer in not rushing the process of building/curating your home—making every purchase an intentional one.
Each piece in this room took a lot of time and thought and almost everything is secondhand. The sconce, brown lamp shade, faux monstera, and the couch are the only items that are new. Most of the items are pieces that I have curated through my antique business—Gentri Lee Antiques. The process, while it has taken longer than I would have liked, has been a rewarding one.
There are still a few tasks I would like to complete in this room, including hanging curtains. For some reason, curtains and rugs are always the hardest things for me to commit to. I have a few fabric samples ordered, but have yet to make a decision. I would love for the curtains to have a simple plaid or windowpane pattern, making them more of a statement, but am nervous about actually committing.
I would love to hear your feedback on what type or style of curtains you think this room would benefit from!
