Autumnal Flashes
“I was drinking in the surroundings: air so crisp you could snap it with your fingers and greens in every lush shade imaginable offset by autumnal flashes of red and yellow.”
― Wendy Delsol, Stork
The older I get, the less tolerance I have for the colder seasons. The end of Summer came too quickly this year, as it always does, ushering in the Fall chill sooner than my mind and body are ready. Perhaps it was the passing of a dear family member, or the fact that I ended Summer with a trip I'd had on my bucket list for years. But as hard as it was to let go, I found myself gladly slipping out of the wildness of Summer, and peacefully into a quieter, more reflective season.
